Welcome to Deji-Animashaun Foundation

The Deji-Animashaun Youths & Community Development Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) established to address the socio-economic challenges faced by rural communities within Lagos State, Nigeria. Recognizing the need for sustainable development and poverty alleviation, our organization is dedicated to empowering individuals through education, vocational training, and community development initiatives

Mission and Values

We are committed to promoting equity and inclusivity, ensuring that all individuals have equal access to opportunities for growth and development.

We recognize the importance of collaboration and partnership in achieving our mission. We work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other organizations to maximize our impact.

Community Profile

Many rural areas lack essential infrastructure such as roads, schools, and healthcare facilities, hindering access to basic services and opportunities for development.

Limited access to quality education perpetuates cycles of poverty and marginalization, leaving many individuals without the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

Impact

Empowered countless individuals to pursue education, gain vocational skills, and achieve economic independence.

Improved access to essential services and opportunities for growth and development.

Fostered social cohesion and community resilience, laying the groundwork for sustainable development and long-term prosperity.

What we do

We Provide Training and Empowerment to Uplift Economically Disadvantaged Rural Communities in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Help The Helpless

All the young women, men, and adolescents who inhabit these communities lack the basic skills for marginal economic survival and empowerment for self-motivated upward mobility on their own. The indigenous segment of these societies is caught up in a vicious circle of poverty from one generation to the other spanning several generations.

Save The Community

These typical rural riverine communities are populated by peasant fishermen and subsistence rural women farmers covering two local governments – ( Eti-Osa Local government and Amuwo-Odofin, Local government of Lagos State. The residents earn less than ($1.00) one dollar per day in income

Preserve The Youth

The preponderance of poverty and underdevelopment triggers students in both Elementary and Secondary Schools to drop out of school in search of means of daily living and survival in the middle of the school year. 70% of this population is vulnerable to getting pregnant at the age of 14 -16 years

The Community

The rate of poverty multiplies and escalates at a time when they ought to be in vocational skill learning centers to acquire relevant skills and enrich their lives for economic survival and better lives.

The Albatross of changing

this negative trend rests partially with the victims of the system but more importantly the assistance from the foundation’s strategic solutions, and of course, the donors, and sponsors of the above lofty goals.
